The primary benefit I derive from belonging to the German American Chamber of Commerce in Philadelphia is the opportunity to socialize with many of my corporate clients and prospects, who are also members of GACC, at the various events and activities held during the year. Regardless of what business you are in—I happen to be in banking—the more you see and really get to know your clients, the better and longer lasting your relationships will be. An important secondary benefit is keeping abreast of German American business and economic issues. Lastly, I find working with our highly dedicated and energetic GACC Philadelphia board members to be a distinct pleasure.
Membership has its privileges - Being a member of GACC Philadelphia provides access not only to the German-American business community but opens doors to the international community in the Greater Delaware Valley. I enjoy attending the various functions and meeting people. The annual Spargelfest is an absolute winner!
Membership in the German-American Chamber of Commerce in Philadelphia gives me the chance to look behind the scenes in Washington and Berlin. Several times a year, policy makers and international experts from both sides of the Atlantic speak to Chamber members on topics of economic and political interest to the German-American business community. Often these meetings are held jointly with other local European-American Chambers of Commerce. Last but not least, I enjoy the many social occasions when I can mingle with colleagues from all types of industries.
